About Dreamweaver Consulting

Hello and welcome… my name is Michelle Payne, founder of  Dreamweaver Consulting.

I am a Counsellor and Life Coach, working with private clients (since December 2013) and as a volunteer at a domestic abuse centre (since September 2012).  I also offer life coaching sessions, either separately or alongside therapeutic counselling and small group workshops.

I am a full-time City PA/Secretary within a Magic Circle Law Firm in the City of London, having been employed there for over 25 years.  I have also served in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, working in administrative roles at a high confidential level and hold the LCCI Private Secretaries Certificate.

I am a past Teacher/Assistant and now very occasional student of Goju Kai Karate (2nd Dan), having had the wonderful opportunity to not only train in different countries (including Japan) but to also take my black belt gradings in front of Saiko Shihan Goshi Yamaguchi and his panel of Shihans on European summer camps (Austria in 2002, Crete in 2004).

I am an occasional writer (when time permits), having had a short story published as part of a charitable project for the charity Equipe.  I hope to write (and publish) more in the future!

As an Individual Member of BACP I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for Researching Counselling and Psychotherapy (where practitioners undertake research) and subject to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force.

I therefore not only hold such membership of the BACP and strive to adhere to their Ethical Framework in all that I do, but have also undergone personal therapy myself, not just as an educational requirement, but so that I can understand what clients may experience. The BACP Ethical Framework can be found here.

I work with regular supervision and hold an Enhanced DBS Check.

Having overcome varied life experiences (including some which were challenging, difficult and negative), I feel that not only can I empathise with difficulties that clients may face, but have the necessary skills and experience gained through life, teaching, employment and education to form a warm, confidential and authentic helping and collaborative relationship with clients: assisting them to make sense of where they currently are (in life, work and relationships with others and/or self), identifying where they want to be and/or goals to be achieved, as well as help them bring about lasting and positive change in their lives.
